INTRODUCTION:

Art with Sound, is a cross-disciplinary collaboration between designers and musicians from Japan and Singapore. The exhibition brings together the complexities of the two disciplines, both innate and compelling to each other.

The result will be an installation and 10 LP-sized albums, each with the designer's artwork and musician's piece.

This project revisits the collaboration of Shun Kawakami (artless), Felix Ng (silnt), after the highly regarded Dual City Sessions: Null in 2007. The installation will be designed by Shuzo Okabe (upsetters).

Designers are to create a monochromatic artwork of A1 sized (594 x 841mm] and custom that artwork for LP size [315x315mm]. The musicians are to create a piece of any length.

ひとつの作品をグラフィックアーティストとサウンドクリエーターが制作する、コラボレーション作品のコレクション。
日本から5組、シンガポールから5組計10組のアーティストが参加し、5月ベルリン「DMY 2008」、7月クアラルンプール「KL Design Week 2008」、そして、シンガポール、東京と巡回予定。

Sootheは、Webも作ってくださったRAKU-GAKIの西田さんと"tooku"で共演。
ベルリン「DMY 2008」参加報告もお楽しみに。

それぞれの方面で活躍している５人が、新たな音楽を求めて結成。

津軽三味線・和太鼓（邦楽器）と、ギター・ベース・ドラム（洋楽器）を融合させ、独自の音楽と雰囲気を生み出す。

ジャンルにとらわれることなく様々な音を取り入れ、多くのアーティストとの共演・JAMセッションも精力的に行う。

LIVE活動の他、ファッションショーでの演奏、舞台・映像・Websiteへの楽曲提供、個人・チームでの活動等、幅広い活動を行っている。

5 artists who are active and already well known in different music fields formed Soothe to seek a totally new music, you have never heard of.

The band creates music using Japanese traditional instruments (Tsugaru-shamisen and Japanese drums) and Western instruments (guitar, bass, and drums). All these aspects are spectacularly united and create the unique music and atmosphere, one has never experienced. Soothe is never obsessed with a certain genre of music and incorporates many kinds of music styles into their art. In parallel with extending its music, Soothe has collaborated and jammed with various artists (vocalists, musicians, visual jockeys, dancers etc.)

In other words, Soothe makes the most out of its' character as instrumental. Besides live concerts, the members have done performances in fashion shows, parties and sound creations as a whole and as individuals. As for sound creation, the works by Soothe match perfectly images of stages, visual effects ,and websites.
